This is the artwork of Regulus, our Dark Necrobat. He has recently launched an account on deviantART, but some of this work can't been found there.
Drawings
Full shot This is Necrobat reborn with the soul of Elvont Lecarde. The blade he's holding there is the infamous
Fiend Blade, a sword that was enchanted with dark energy, making it indestructible and allowing him to use it against beam
sabers. I plan on elaborating upon this background. The swirling darkness behind him is nice and all, but it's only there
so I don't just have a white background. I can't stand having just a white background on any of my works.
Clean mugshot This is a mugshot of Necrobat I sketched up in about 30 minutes and colored in using Photoshop in about
an hour.
Mughsot (anime sketch) Same mugshot, except I applied a sketch filter to it to make it look like one of those really detailed
end scenes of an anime. Ah, I had fun drawing Necrobat.
Necrobat's throne room I did a lot of this with Photoshop. The tiles were generated using a filter, as well as the shadows and
the picture on the wall. I love this background, and I had a lot of fun with it.
Just the room Just sort of posting it so you can see the actual throne.
First draft This was originally ZYMETH's drawing of Volt Kraken (note the difference in drawing style). I offered
to color him in and give him a background, and he said that he'd appreciate it, so I set to work. Ok, this is the first copy
of the touch-up I made using Adobe Photoshop. Since Kraken's the Cooler, "blow up planets with a grin on your face" type,
I decided to place a burning city in the background. Also note the secondary shadow that Volt's electricity is casting on
the ground. This is one of my most detailed backgrounds yet. All in all, I liked the way Volt turned out, but I thought "I
could do more with this," so I went the extra mile and gave it some atmosphere...
Final draft I absolutely love how this came out. The rain, the lightning. Everything just comes together so well
to give Volt Kraken that pissed-off "all living things are mere playthings to me" look. This is one of my personal favorites
out of my whole career of screwing around with Photoshop.Watching the World Go By Elvont Lecarde and Shelly spending a romantic evening together under the stars, or rather, among them,
given their location. Quite a cute couple in my opinion. SHIIIIIIT For someone whose inspiration was the legendary Indiana Jones, I'm surprised this wasn't already done.
Indy asked me to draw his custom character, and this picture instantly crept into my mind. Hope you like it, Indy.
Sprites and Pixel Art
I decided that since Lecarde obviously doesn't like bright light, he'd pick up the habit of wearing
shades, and who else has the coolest shades in the world other than Resident Evil's Albert Wesker? The wings have also been
changed. I didn't quite like the set that was on the idle sprite, and of course he's standing right side up.
Shame on everyone who doesn't get the Kojak reference, or the Castlevania IV reference, for that matter.
